Based on the 2nd Generation of the Legacy B4 Sedan, the GT300 class is the first of its kind since its original predecessor wayback 2009 adapted the Rear-Wheel drivetrain which was originally an all-wheel drive. The car is powered by a turbo-charged Boxer-4 engine which is now being used by its successor the Subaru BRZ as well as the famous Toyota GT86.
The R&D SPORTS team won their first victory in the 2010 39th POKKA Summer GT Special event which was held in Suzuka International Circuit.
